Is my Phone supported by mPortico?
Installation:

Q: How do I install mPortico on my Windows Mobile phone? 

Step 1: Pre-Download
Connect your phone to your PC
Open Microsoft ActiveSync
Step 2: Download the mPortico Setup Application
A window will appear asking what you want to do with EZ-XSsetup.exe. To start the setup click 'Run'. If you are asked to confirm, click 'Run' again.
Step 3: Setup Wizard
After the download has finished, the mPortico Setup Wizard will start. Follow the instructions to complete the installation process.
Step 4: Finalizing the mPortico Installation
After the installation is completed, mPortico will automatically start installing on your phone.
A message will appear asking you where you would like to install mPortico. Choose either Device or Memory Card and click 'Install'. (We recommend you choose the location with more space as indicated on your phone.)
After installation has finished another message will appear notifying you that the installation process was successful. Then click 'ok' to launch the mPortico content store.

Q: How do I install mPortico on my Symbian phone?

Step 1: Pre-Download

After the installation is completed, mPortico’s EZ-XS will ask you to complete the installation process on your phone.
Step 5: Launching
A message will appear asking you where you would like to install mPortico. Choose either Device or Memory Card and click 'Install'. (We recommend you choose the memory card or the location with more space as indicated on your phone.)
After installation has finished another message will appear notifying you that the installation process was successful. You can will need to launch the application from your installed applications folder on your phone. Look for the EZ-XS icon.

Q: How do I uninstall mPortico?
If you would like to uninstall mPortico from your phone:

Pocket PC handset:
1. On your phone make sure mPortico is not running. If it is open, please exit mPortico
2. Tap 'Start', and then tap 'Settings'.
3. In 'Settings' tap the 'System' tab and open 'Remove Programs'
4. In the 'Remove Program' screen select mPortico and then tap the 'Remove' box at the bottom of the screen.
5. A message will appear asking if  you want to remove mPortico. Tap 'Yes'.
6. Another message will appear asking 'Do you wish to remove all content and resource files from your mPortico memory card?' Tap 'Yes'. (Note: This will only delete the files related to mPortico and will NOT delete other files stored on your memory card.)

Smart Phone handset:
1. Click 'Start', and then click 'Settings'.
2. In 'Settings', click 'Remove Programs'
3. In the 'Remove Program' screen click mPortico.
4. A message will appear asking if you are sure you want to remove mPortico. Click 'Yes'.
5. Another message will appear asking 'Do you wish to remove all content and resource files from your mPortico memory card?' Click 'Yes'. (Note: This will only delete the files related to mPortico and will NOT delete other files stored on your memory card.)

Symbian Handset:
1. On your Handset, make sure mPortico is not currently running. If it is open, exit mPortico
2. Click the menu button and then select the ‘Tools’ folder.
3. In the Tools folder, open the ‘Application Manager’  and select mPortico
4. Click ‘Options’ and then ‘Remove’
 

Q. I do not understand how to use mPortico, is there a help guide?
Yes there is.
1. Open mPortico
2. From the main menu, click 'Options' and then click 'Help'

Q. Do I have to register or subscribe to use mPortico?
No, you can instantly open mPortico. There is no registration or fee required.
 

Terms and Conditions:

Q. What happens if I reject the terms and conditions?
By rejecting the terms and conditions, you will delete all of the mPortico content files on your memory card. Other content files on your memory card will NOT be deleted. Afterwards you will not be able to use mPortico.


If you wish to delete the mPortico application as well:

Pocket PC handset:
1. On your phone make sure mPortico is not running. If it is open, please exit mPortico
2. Tap 'Start', and then tap 'Settings'.

Upgrading Issues:

Q: Can I upgrade to a newer version?
Yes. In the 'Options' menu click 'Update Catalog,' if there is a new version, a message will appear after the update is complete, informing you that a new version of mPortico  is available to download. Click 'Ok' on the message and the new version will be automatically installed on your phone. All upgrades are free and the content in mPortico will not change.


Q. How do I know what version of mPortico I have installed on my phone?
In mPortico click 'Options' and then select 'About.' In the 'About' screen the version will be displayed (e.g. 1.01)


Updating Content:

Q. Can I receive new content in mPortico?
Yes, from the main menu, simply click the 'Options' button and then 'Update Catalog.' mPortico connects to a content server, and then downloads content to mPortico. After the update is complete a message will appear indicating what new content you have received. If there are no new items on the server, the message will say: "Update catalog complete. No new items".

Q. Does it cost money to update my catalog?
No, mPortico does not charge to update content. However, since mPortico uses an internet connection to download new content from the server, cellular carrier connection fees will be charged to your account according to the data plan you have subscribed to.

For more information regarding data fees contact your cellular carrier.

Q. What should I do if I try to update my catalog, but receive an error message?
1. Check with your cellular carrier to ensure you have a data plan with an Internet connection.
2. Verify that your phone is connected to your cellular carrier's network.
3. Check you phone's connection settings.

1. Tap 'Start', and then tap 'Settings'.
2. In 'Settings', tap the 'Connection' tab
3. In the 'Connection' tab check your connection settings according to your operator's access point.
4. Open mPortico
5. Click the 'Options' menu and select 'Settings'
6. In the 'Settings' screen, click on the arrows below 'Internet Access Point.' Make sure it is set to 'Internet'

Q. Can I set mPortico to update my catalog automatically?
Yes, mPortico can update your catalog on an hourly, daily, or weekly basis. To set mPortico to automatically update your catalog:
1. Click the 'Options' menu and open 'Settings,'
2. Select 'Connection Frequency' and click the desired time frame.

Q. I updated my catalog and I received 2 new images and 2 new songs. Where can I see them?
Each new content item is stored in the matching content folder (i.e. new wallpapers will be added to the Wallpaper folder).

Purchasing and Billing:

Q. How do I buy an item in mPortico?
The process is simple. Click on an item marked with a red dollar sign. A pop up message will appear instructing you on the purchasing process. Follow the instructions as indicated.

Q. How do I get charged for a purchase?
When you purchase an item, your monthly cellular account will be billed with the amount indicated for that item.

Q. Is the Billing Process Secure?
Yes. The billing process is very secure. All billing is done through your cellular carrier using Premium SMS text messages.

Q. Does all the content in mPortico cost money?
No, there is plenty of great content on mPortico to play, view, and listen to for FREE.

Q. I tried to purchase an item but I am stuck on "Processing your request" What should I do?
1. Check with your cellular carrier to ensure you have a data plan with SMS and an Internet connection.
2. Verify that your phone is connected to your cellular carrier's network.
3. Check you phone's connection settings.

1. Select 'Cancel' to stop the operation.
2. Tap 'Start', and then tap 'Settings'.
3. In 'Settings', tap the 'Connection' tab
4. In the 'Connection' tab check your connection settings according to your operator's access point.

6. Click the 'Options' menu and select 'Settings'
7. In 'Settings', click on the arrows below 'Internet Access Point.' Make sure it is set to 'Internet'

Q. Can I remove mPortico from the TODAY screen?
Yes, you can remove mPortico from the TODAY Screen.
1. Tap 'Start', and then tap 'Settings'.
2. In 'Settings', tap the 'Today' icon
3. Tap on the 'Items' tab
4. Remove the check from mPortico' check box and click 'OK'

Using Content:

Q. Can I set an audio file from EX-XS as my ring-tone?
Yes, setting a ring-tone is very simple.
1. In mPortico open a ring-tone or song.
2. Click 'Options'
3. Select 'Set as ring-tone'
4. A message box will appear. Click 'OK'. Now your ring-tone is set.


Q. Can I set an image from EX-XS as my wallpaper?
Yes, setting an image as your wallpaper is very simple.
1. In mPortico open an image.
2. Click 'Options'
3. Select 'Set as wallpaper'
4. A message box will appear. Click 'OK'. The wallpaper is now set.

Q. In mPortico can I see how much space is on my memory card?
Yes, to see how much space you have on your memory card click 'Options' and then click 'Memory Status'.

Q. I opened a music file but I can't hear anything.

Check the handset volume level and the mPortico audio player volume level. If that doesn't help, do a soft reset (turn off and turn on the phone) and run mPortico again.

Q. I deleted a game I purchased through mPortico, do I need to purchase the game again to open it?
No, after purchasing the game you can just click the game icon in mPortico and it will install again.

Q. I opened a video file, but it doesn't play. What should I do?
Do a soft reset (turn off and turn on the phone) and run mPortico again.

Pocket PC handset:
1. Tap 'Start', and then tap 'Settings'.
2. In 'Settings' tap the 'System' tab and then tap the 'About' icon
